Renting the truck yourself but don’t want to carry the couch up from the finished basement? Back To Back Moving sends trained crews to load or unload your rental, POD, or U-Box — muscle and technique without paying for a truck you already have.

What labor-only covers

You handle the rental and the driving; we handle the heavy lifting. It is the same W-2 crew that runs our full jobs, just for the load or the unload — backed by the same Indiana URC household-goods authority on file.

  • Loading a rented truck, trailer, POD, or U-Box at your home
  • Unloading the same on the other end and placing items by room
  • Tight, weight-balanced stacking for a long-distance haul down I-65 or up I-69
  • Furniture disassembly and reassembly — beds, tables, shelving
  • Heavy single items: appliances, a sofa, a treadmill, basement gym gear — for a piano or safe, see our specialty crew
  • Rearranging or staging within a home you are not leaving

No hidden add-ons

Hourly labor at $115 for two movers and $155 for three, pads and dollies in hand. No fuel surcharge, no stair fee, no “heavy item” upcharge sprung at the door — the rate you are quoted is the rate you pay.

How hourly labor works

  1. Pick your crew size. Two movers for a walk-up or POD, three for a full house or a tight window — tell us on your free quote request.
  2. Have the rental ready. Truck or container on site; we bring pads, straps, and dollies.
  3. We load smart. Heavy and square on the bottom, weight balanced, everything strapped for the highway.
  4. Clock the hours. You pay for time worked — just the standard two-hour minimum, no padded surprises.

What It Costs Around Indy

A two-mover team runs $115/hr with a two-hour minimum; a three-mover team is $155/hr, and bigger Indy jobs are pinned down as one flat written figure before our truck rolls off Keystone Avenue.

Two of our own W-2 movers, a padded box truck, four-wheelers, shrink wrap and quilted blankets — the entire Indianapolis job folded into a single Back To Back Moving rate, with no handoff to a third-party van line at any point in the day.

Questions Indianapolis Households Ask Before Booking This Service

Can you just load my rental truck and not drive it?
Yes - that is exactly what labor-only is. You rent and drive the truck, POD, or U-Box, and our Indianapolis crew loads or unloads it by the hour. It is popular with DIY clients across Carmel, Broad Ripple, and the IUPUI student belt.
How many movers do I need for a POD or rental?
A walk-up or single POD is usually fine with two movers; a full house or a tight loading window goes faster with three. We will suggest a crew size when you describe the home and the container on the quote form.
Are there extra fees for stairs or heavy items?
No. Our hourly rate covers pads, dollies, stairs, and heavy pieces like appliances or a basement sofa. There is no fuel surcharge or surprise heavy-item fee added at the door - you pay for the hours worked past the two-hour minimum.

Why the Circle City Books Back To Back Moving

From Carmel two-story Colonials and Fishers split-levels to Salesforce Tower high-rise condos and Lockerbie Square Victorians — a crew that knows Marion, Hamilton, and Johnson County streets block by block.

Severe-Weather Loadouts

From an April tornado warning to a January ice storm off Lake Michigan, our crew rolls up to your Indianapolis doorstep with floor runners, shrink wrap, and pad-wrapped dollies, so weather grit stays off the hardwood. Tight Lockerbie Square cobblestone curbs and steep Meridian-Kessler driveways across Indianapolis and central Indiana get a smaller box truck and a slower approach on grade.

Top-Rated IN Crews

Every hand at your door is on the Back To Back Moving payroll — full-time, background-checked, W-2, and trained the way Tyler runs the Keystone Avenue yard. Never day labor pulled off a board. That is how we hold a 5-star Google rating across Marion County.

One Flat Written Rate

Your figure is set on paper before the first carton clears your Indianapolis doorway, and it holds whether I-465 stacks at the north split or the job runs late. Long hauls out I-65 or I-70 come back as a binding written total — nothing added at the curb.

No Broker Handoffs

Every truck at a Circle City curb wears the Back To Back Moving name, and each mover on it draws a W-2 paycheck. Your load is never handed to an outside carrier — one Indianapolis company packs it, drives it, and carries it in.

Fully Insured, $1M Cargo

We operate as a registered Indiana household-goods carrier — Indiana URC household-goods authority on file for intrastate work, with US DOT and MC authority on file across state lines into Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, and Michigan. A $1 million cargo policy backs every Indy job, no exceptions.

On Time Across the Metro

A two-hour arrival window and a call the moment the truck leaves our Keystone Avenue yard. We route around the I-65 / I-70 north-split tangle downtown and the I-465 backup near Fishers, so your closing date holds.

Packing & Supplies Included

Pack the whole house, just the finished basement, or only the rooms keeping you up at night. Cartons, pads, dollies, and shrink film ride on the truck before the crew leaves the yard, so wrapping starts the moment we step into your Indianapolis doorway.

Specialty Pieces Handled

Upright pianos, large gun safes, antique sideboards, and oversized armoires get the right ramp and straps — plus a crew chief who has eased them down Lockerbie Square cobblestones, out of Herron-Morton third-floor Victorian walk-ups, and up finished-basement stairs across Carmel and Fishers.

Your Easy Indianapolis Move

A flat written rate, then loading, then unloading at your new Indy address — three steps, start to finish.

1

Tell Us About Your Move

Share the basics — rooms, finished basement, tight Lockerbie Square cobblestone curb access, any upright piano or gun safe — and Tyler’s office prices it as one clear flat figure with no fine print.

2

We Wrap & Protect

The crew rolls up on time, pads and shrink-wraps every piece — finished basements, Salesforce Tower high-rise units, narrow Herron-Morton third-floor walk-ups — and shoulders all the heavy lifting.

3

Move to Your New Home

We drive across Marion County or out I-65 toward Louisville and I-74 toward Cincinnati, unload box by box into the right rooms, and reassemble the furniture. Welcome home!
